Message tape over the letters (I cut a piece just big enough to cover the entire length and width of logo) and rub it on so it adheres really well; you should see each letter embossed through the tape. Then paint as usual. When it comes to painting around the logo, I lightly spray the paint under the masking tape to get to the gaps in the letters.

Afterwards when everything is dry, remove the tape. Any clean-up can be quickly done with paint thinner on a Q-tip, but so far I've had very little (if any) clean up with this method.

For any spots of paint that didn't get to the desired location, I keep a model paint brush handy for touch-ups.
